Bedtime Conversations

We were on the bed getting ready to sleep. Andi was looking at the laptop screen on the bed.

Anna: Andi, Mommy is so tired…

Andi: (looking worried) Why Mommy?

Anna: I need a hug.

Andi hugs me. And I checked what was on the laptop. Andi lay down on my pillow  and looked at me.

Andi: (imitating me) I’m so tired, Mommy!…. Hug?

I went to her and hugged her. JA was observing us. Andi went to the computer screen again, checking the pictures.

JA: I’m so tired, Andi! Give Daddy a hug?

Andi: (looked at her Daddy)… Wait! Wait Daddy!

JA even though frustrated, couldn’t help but laugh.

JA asked me to massage his head because he had a headache. While I was massaging his head, I asked Andi, ” Andi, please pray for Daddy. His head is ouchie.”

Andi: Lord, please heal Daddy’s head.. and looked at me and said, Bless Mommy also.

Andi: Daddy, I love you. Goodnight!

Andi: (giving her fingers to JA) Bite Daddy!

JA playfully gently bit Andi’s hand.

Andi: (giggling) No Daddy! No biting!

That’s our ‘before going to sleep’conversation last night. I can’t help but imagine what it’s going to be like in the days and years to come. I am excited about the many many more bedtime conversations with Andi. She just gets more interesting by the minute!
