I was thinking that it is impossible to win all the battles that I am faced with everyday (big and small). I have gotten to the point wherein I choose not to fight some of them. Sometimes I decide that it is okay to lose in some too.
Here is my point. We cannot win all battles. I choose my battles because there are battles not worth fighting. I prefer to lose in some so that I may win in the battles that are worth fighting. I do not want to waste my energy, my resources, my joy for what does not really matter. I want to be able to give the best to the people I love the most.
I have learned not to stress over a toothpaste that JA did not return back in its place or the mess that Andi made while she was playing and dancing. I choose to overlook some things (even those that naturally irritate and annoy me) so that I am able to enjoy and cherish the times I spend with them. And oh, they bring me so much joy! What a waste of emotions if I focused on the wrong things.
One more thing I have realized is that when I am stressed, worked up and cranky, it is an indication that most probably I am engaging myself with too much. I can only do and give so much. I choose not to spread myself too thin. It is perfectly okay to say no, to let go, and sometimes even to disappoint certain people so that you can be the person God wants you to be and to be able to do what you are meant to do.
Not all battles are mine to take. That is why I choose those that I want to fight and and those that I need to win.

I’d rather win the relationship than win the fight!
