*In a few hours, I will be turning 30. Many have been asking me how I feel about it. Do I have birthday jitters? Do I feel old? What am I wishing and hoping for this coming year?
In a few words I will try to summarize what I am feeling and thinking of right now: I can’t ask for more. There is simply nothing more I could ask for.
Does that mean that I have stopped expecting from God?… No, because I always want and choose to be expectant.
Have I stopped believing for more?…Of course not. I never have and I never will.
But here’s the thing. I am content. I am at peace.
I have Him. I have all that I need.
And even though I do not deserve it, He has blessed me with a full life.
I have a loving husband.
I have a beautiful daughter.
I have my family.
I have the best friends I could ever ask for.
I am provided for.
I have a purpose and destiny.
I am alive and well.
And I acknowledge that every breath that I have is a gift from Him. Everything is a gift. My life is a gift.
I am grateful. And I desire that everything in my life, all of my years and all that I am, and all that I will be, will be for Him and about Him.
So thank you Lord, for my 30 years.
I have you, and I have all that I want and need.
And because I have you, I know that my life can only get better.
Yes, it can only get better and better.
**Last Sunday, when I was listening to and singing this song, in a way I felt that if there was any song that could capture my life’s sentiment, this probably would be it.
