5.Have a vision of the future family that you desire to have. The decisions you make now will affect your future. I have always been struck with this verse Proverbs 31: 12 The wife of noble character does good to her husband all the days of her life. All my days!…, meaning I should have decided to do good to JA even before married him or even met him!
Who you are now and what you do can and will either bless or curse your future husband and kids.
- How do you live your life now?
- How are you spending your time?
- How are you handling your money?
- Are you guarding your heart?
- What do you fill your mind with?
- Do you value your body?
- Are you protecting other peoples’ hearts or are you playing with the emotions of others?
- Who are the company and friends you keep? How are your relationships?
- How is your relationship with God?
Are you investing in your future or unknowingly destroying it? What is your vision for your marriage and your family? I wish I started having one even when I was young. It would have spared me of a lot of mistakes. If you don’t have a vision, please please look way ahead into the future. Living for (just) the moment is so overrated. It makes people reckless and irresponsible. In everything you do, pray, and think not just once, but twice or thrice. Number 6 is all about waiting for God’s best for you, but it is imperative to also ask: Are you preparing NOW and letting God mold you NOW and change you NOW to be God’s best for your husband?
6. Wait for God’s best for you. Believe me, he exists. I may have done many mistakes in the past but I am so thankful that I waited for JA and that I did not settle for anything less. When he comes, you will know. There is no formula to knowing it, but, I need and beg you to have two non-negotiables: He must love and fear God & He must love, honor and respect you.
If he does not possess these two qualities, I am 100% sure that he is not God’s best for you. He is probably a toad, not a prince.
On the other hand if he loves God, He will be able to love you. If he is devoted to God, He will be devoted to you. If he honors God in his life, then he will treat you honorably too.
Ladies, please do not give away your heart easily. You will regret it if you do. Wait until a man can prove himself worthy of your love (and can offer you a lifetime commitment), and wait for the right time. Because everything is much, much, much more beautiful when the time is right.
7. Honor God in all that you do. Ultimately our goal (in whatever season we may find ourselves in) is to please Him, and our sole purpose to worship and honor Him. If you do this and you constantly aim at this, the rest will follow.

Liz was the one who asked me about What I Wish I Learned When I was Single? She is a woman who is passionate for God and who is living her single life to the fullest! She is an excellent writer and I am encouraged by her blogs. Her most recent blog post was written by one of my closest and dearest friends, Sam Johnson. Hope you read it. I totally agree with all that she said in her list :-)
Thanks Anna!! :) I LOVED reading your two posts… and I’ll definitely be sharing them!
I especially like what you said here: “…everything is much, much, much more beautiful when the time is right.”
I love that. :)
