Last Saturday night, our friend Sam invited JA and I to watch the last day of the concert series of Gary V. called Soul in Motion. Here for me are the highlights and what I took home after the concert:
1.Gary V. is the best! For me he is the best male singer/performer in the country and he is a world class talent! It was such a treat listening to him sing old songs (which I knew since my childhood days), his current hits and even those that he is currently working on. He’s excellent in his craft. It is also admirable to see him have a strong marriage with his wife Tita Angeli, and to see his kids respect and adore him. Another thing that I admire about him is how he is a mentor to younger artists. Jericho Rosales and Duncan Ramos were two of the artists who consider him as their mentor, were his guests that night. But the one thing that stands out the most about him is his faith in God and how he uses his God-given gifts to glorify Him (and not himself). He said three things that I will not forget.
* This is the gift, and the giver of the gift flowing through me.
* My legs are asking me until when will we dance. And my answer is, until He wants me to dance, I will dance.
* What I do never gets old because of Who I do it for and because of what I share to my audience over and over again. (this is paraphrased)
2. JA and I got to spend time again with our friend Sam after not seeing him for quite awhile. So catching up and hanging out with him was a treat, as well. Friends (old and new) are wonderful blessings!
3. On a personal note, this is what watching the concert did to me: It has inspired me to be (or at least to strive to be) excellent in everything I do (big and small, menial or extraordinary). It also made me want to be a better steward of the gifts and talents that God has given me. I need to start, and to keep on using what he has blessed me with. Lastly, it has stirred up and encouraged me to keep on dreaming and to relentlessly pursue the dreams that God has placed in my heart and in JA’s heart. It heightened my passion to live out God’s purpose for my life.
* This was Andi’s 1st concert too!And she couldn’t stop talking about it! Haha.

hurrah for andi’s first concert! =D sounds like she had a great time hehe! she seems to like music and dancing and singing a lot anyway, so it’s not surprising she’d talk about it nonstop hahaha.
i love what you quoted on Gary V. he is an amazing man with an amazing story, God truly is glorified in his life. thanks for sharing an inspiring blog! i agree that we all should be inspired to strive to be excellent, as good stewards of God’s gifts and blessings.
