Tangled Experience

Andi about to watch Tangled with Ninang Voica

Last February 5 Andi watched the movie Tangled, her first movie to watch without me and JA. I believe this was the fourth movie she’s seen on the big screen (after Shrek, Toy Story 3 and Megamind).

I am so happy she enjoyed watching this even without us. I am so grateful for her Ninangs and Titas who spent the afternoon dating her and a treating her with chocolate ice cream after. She had the most wonderful time. It is a blessing having friends who love your child and whom you can entrust your daughter to once and awhile. While that was happening JA and I took the time to go around the mall to date!

A part of me got sentimental when I thought about how time flies, and she is now a little girl (no longer a baby). I asked my husband to go with me so we can see Andi when she comes out of the movie house. But after waiting for 30mins outside the theater we got a text that she was already having her ice cream somewhere else!

Anyways, JA and I got to watch the movie a day after Andi did. She kept telling us about the horse eating apples, and the dirty hair of Rapunzel (because the hair was touching the floor), Eugene’s “ouchie” cheeks and the bad Mommy. I LOVED, LOVED the movie. I think this is the best Disney princess movie. And the songs are amazing!

I fell in love with the song ” I See the Light” the first time I heard it. It is one of the sweetest songs I have heard. I thought of how it could even be a worship song for God. And it depicts how I feel about JA too! Love, love, love it.

Here is a video of Andi singing the song, while watching the Oscars LIVE with me.

The coolest thing about this video is that Zachary Levi (the voice of Eugene) saw this in YouTube and tweeted about this video. This was his tweet: @ZacharyLevi In the words of Abraham Lincoln, “This kid is freakin adorable!” (although I may be a tad bias :)) http://t.co/jA14p18

Who knows, Andi someday may be the voice of a Disney princess! And since she loves singing and performing, I hope to see her sing and perform with the best singers in the world! I always tell her that she will be the best in whatever field God has called her to be. She will do great things for God and she will shine for Jesus. Her future is promising and bright! My only prayer is that she honors God in everything that she does and will eventually do in her life and that ultimately God will be glorified in her life.

It’s also on one of Tangled’s U.S. Blogs: http://hellyeahtangled.tumblr.com/post/3637141463#disqus_thread

I am so proud of you, Sweetheart! :-)

  2. We have not been formally introduced, but I go to your church and I think Andi is a very beautiful and talented child.

By the way, did you know Zachary Levi is a committed Christian as well? I have been a fan of his for years, and seeing his tweet made me love him all the more!

[RM:] Is Hollywood a difficult atmosphere to be in as a Christian?

[ZL:] Absolutely. The atmosphere in Hollywood in general is very anti-conservative, very anti-Christian. The liberal segment of Hollywood, which is 80 percent of it if not more, they look at Christians as hypocrites that are false and fake. The tough part is that in many cases I can’t argue with them. My job on my set, I believe, is to first just love people and gain that trust with people where they know that I really do love them and care about their well-being, so that when they are running into problems, they will hopefully, at some point, come to me and ask me, “What is your peace all about? What is your comfort all about? Where do you get your love? Where do you get your talents? And I can turn to them and say without blinking, “Jesus Christ.”
You can’t just come out there and say “Hey, I’m a Christian, and I’m gonna beat you into thinking the way that I do.” You can’t do that. It’s not about manipulation so much as it’s about getting in on someone’s life on the ground floor. So more than anything, that’s what I’m trying to do now. Just build relationships with everyone that I work with.

It’s an old interview, but based on his tweets, he still seems okay! Amazing, right?
