Last Monday, May 2, 2011, I turned 31. As my husband and I were waiting for midnight to arrive (so he can greet me), I told him that I cannot believe that I was about to turn 31 already. I actually feel younger now than I did before. Maybe I found it weird to be 31 and feel young, because growing up I thought when you are in your 20s you are already old. So 31 for me then is very old :)
Anyway, when I turned 30, I wrote a blog entitled “Nothing More to Ask for at 30″ Now that I just turned 31, the two main words to describe how I feel and where I am in my life now are these: GRATEFUL and EXPECTANT.
This was my tweet on my birthday: Thank you Lord for my life. All that I have become and all that I have is because of You, and from you. And ultimately, my life is all for You…. I am truly BLESSED.
I am grateful to God for my life, for all that He has done, all that He has given me, and where He has taken me.
I am grateful for my husband, who (after Jesus) is the best gift God has given me. I am thankful for the love he gives me everyday, and for his leadership in our family.
I am grateful for the privilege and honor given to me by God to be Andi’s mom, who brings me inexpressible joy and delight each and every day. God has made me into a better, more loving, and definitely more patient person because of these two most important roles that I live out everyday.
I am grateful for family and friends.
I am grateful for everything in my life.
I too, at 31 am expectant. I am expectant because I know that the best is yet to come in my life, and my heart is bursting with excitement on what is to come. I know that God is good and faithful always. He will be taking me to the next level of my faith and my relationship with Him. He will be continuously be unravelling His purposes for my life. God will be taking me from glory to glory. Who would not be expectant and excited with that? :)
The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter until the full light of day. (Proverbs 4:18)
(I can’t seem to upload pics in my site for some odd reason,so the pics will have to follow :) )
